Ceramic particles are a new type of pavement material made from kaolin as the main raw material, added with inorganic high-temperature coloring agents, and fired at high temperatures. What are the reasons for bubbles appearing when it is in use?
1. In the transportation and storage of ceramic particles, proper preservation work should be done, and the moisture content of pigments, seasonings, and solvents should be strictly controlled. Soluble fillers should be avoided as much as possible in the primer formula, and solvents should be used for balance to prevent excessive solvent residue. Low permeability substrates should be used in high humidity environments.
2. It is necessary to prevent adverse weather conditions such as high temperature and humidity during every step and detail of ceramic particle construction. During the construction period, the external sound temperature shall not exceed 85%. If there is frost, condensation or other weather before construction, it is necessary to wait for the road surface to dry before painting. Before construction, we dilute and stir the ceramic particles, then let them sit for a while before painting. We can also conduct a sampling survey on its appearance. If the roughness is too large, it can easily lead to coating loss and voids, resulting in the formation of bubbles.
The above are the reasons for the formation of bubbles in ceramic particles, which can be used as a reference when in use. Choosing appropriate ceramic particles can have different effects. Choosing the appropriate particle size based on one's own construction site will make the site more durable and aesthetically pleasing.
