In frozen soil areas during the deep freezing season, when the roadbed soil is prone to freezing, the hazards of frost heave and frost heave should be considered. The determination of the total thickness of the road surface should not only meet the requirements of mechanical strength, but also meet the requirements of the thickness of the antifreeze layer, to avoid the occurrence of thick ice accumulation zones on the inner side of the roadbed, which may cause uneven frost heave and cracking of the road surface.
